Rapids Recap Dec 6-12…

Here’s what has transpired with the Rapids this past week.

Dec 9 – Rapids re-sign Sean St. Ledger – Good decision by the Rapids front office on the re-signing of St. Ledger. He was solid on the Rapids back line since he came over late in the season from Orlando.

Rapids take Michael Azira in Waiver Draft – The Ugandan international midfielder was the only player taken in last Wednesday’s waiver draft. Azira, 28 has 2 years MLS experience, both with the Sounders. He made 25 appearances, with 14 starts. This was definitely a salary cap-friendly pickup for the Rapids, that could pay off for the club in 2016.

Dec 11Rapids acquire MacMath from Union – Another good decision by the RFO in bringing back MacMath to back up Irwin in net. Rapids traded a 2017 2nd round pick to the Philadelphia Union for MacMath. MacMath made just 3 appearances last season for the Rapids.
